RESPITE CONSULATATION WORKSHOP FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS OF TRAUMATIC CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCES AND THEIR NEW FAMILIES

An 8 hour workshop

The workshop is intended for parents, professionals and Para-professionals who intend on developing a program/project of respite for children who experience attachment challenges and their parents within their communities. Each participant will receive a Respite Packet (20-30 page) developed by TATTAC.

VI. HOW CAN RESPITE BE PROVIDED

    A. Respite Packet (Safety/Information)

VII. DEVELOPING A COMMUNITY PROGRAM

    A. Clarify project as respite or technical assistance

VIII. EVALUATION OF RESPITE CONSULATION WORKSHOP

PRE-REQUISITE:

Due to the intermediate level of understanding participants must have attended ATTACHMENT DISORDER I IV offered by TATTAC

OUTCOMES OF THE RESPITE CONSULTATION WORKSHOP

Attendees will:

    1. Be able to define what respite is and its important to families

    2. Clarify who their project targets

    3. Define where and when possible respite can be provided

    4. Provide an outline of a pilot respite program defining

        a. who will participate

        b. who will supervise the project on a weekly basis and how the individual will be funded

        c. how often the project committee will met
